Instructions for optimizing a price list with many options on many products.
When a price list has many options on many products, it's easy for there to be performance issues caused by thousands and thousands of unique options to be stored in SimplePhoto. Studios can now switch to using only one or two unique lab products for an entire price list, with billing codes and product fulfillment codes stored at the retail product level instead of inside separate lab products.
If the price list you are optimizing is currently in use, we recommend making a copy of the price list instead of directly modifying the live price list.
Step 1: Analyze the retail price list to determine which unique lab products need to exist.
Step 2: Make sure the necessary lab products are in place. If you are setting up new lab products... the "Copy all options from the product selected below to the products checked above." feature is very helpful to copy options from an old product into a new product.
Step 3: Copy billing codes and product codes from lab products into price list products.
Step 4:
If any price list products need to be associated to different lab products, make the necessary changes.
Step 5: Change the price list to use options directly from lab products.
