Build lab products for Composite Print and Composite Print Image Nodes
First, create a Lab Product for the composite with the "Composite Print" Product Type selected. The Product Code should match the DP2 Layout ID.
Then create one lab product with the "Composite Print Image Node" Product Type selected for each image node contained in the composite. You can name these products something descriptive such as "Upper Left Pose" or use the node name in DP2.
The Product Code for the image nodes must be the image node name defined in DP2. By default image node names will be the word "Node" followed by a number starting with 10000, such as "Node10000", "Node10001", etc. Please note that capitalization does matter when nodes are populated in DP2.
Setup one lab product with the type "Composite Print" and then two or more products with the type "Composite Print Image Node". "Composite Print Image Nodes" must be placed after a "Composite Print" product.
Build composite product in a retail price list
Once the Composite Print lab product is in place, composite prints may be added to retail price lists. Click the "Add Composite Product" in the retail price list edit screen. Make sure the proper composite print lab product is selected. After the composite print product is added, you will be prompted to add the composite print image nodes as package products. Make sure the correct composite print image node lab product is selected for each package product.
Text Nodes in a Composite
SimplePhoto 2.0: If you would like to use text options to populate text nodes inside the DP2 layout, define the options on one of the Composite Print product (not on the Composite Print Image Nodes) Follow the guidelines outlined in the Populate Product Options help file for populating the product codes for the text options.
Classic shopping cart system users: If you would like to use text options to populate text nodes inside the DP2 layout, define the options on one of the Composite Print Image Nodes (not on the Composite Print product itself). Follow the guidelines outlined in the Populate Product Options help file for populating the product codes for the text options.
Override the composite DP2 Layout ID based on a customer's selection
If you would like to allow customers to choose the DP2 Layout ID based on a menu selection, add a "Drop Down Menu" type Option to the "Composite Print" lab product or one of the "Composite Print Image Node" lab products. In the "Product Code" field for each Option Item, put the text "override" (without the quotes). In the "Product Value" field, put the DP2 Layout ID that corresponds with the Option Item.
Composite prints inside a package
More than one Composite Print may exist within a fixed package. If you add more than one Composite Print product, make sure the Composite Print Image Node products are immediately after the corresponding Composite Print product.
Here are instructions on setting up a composite print inside a fixed package:
Follow instructions above under "Build lab products for Composite Print and Composite Print Image Nodes"
Create a fixed package in a price list.
First add a "Print" style product to the package. Type the name of the composite print. In the "Lab Product" select menu, choose the lab product for the corresponding composite print. In the "Number of selections required" field, type "0". The customer will not need to select a pose for the composite product itself.
Next add a "Print" style product to the package for each image node in the composite. In the "Lab Product" select menu, choose the lab product for the corresponding composite print image node. In the "Number of selections required" field, type "1".
Single image products sold as composite products
In some cases, single image products are sold as composite products. These composite products should be configured with no lab product association at the composite product level. The desired lab product should be associated at the composite product image node level.
